CBC voter awareness van will convey the message of voting; CBC folk artists will create voter awareness through traditional cultural programs across Maharashtra

The Central Bureau of Communications ( CBC), Pune Regional Office, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting , Government of India , officially launched the voter awareness campaign today , November 8, 2024 at an event at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. This was part of the state level launch of voter awareness program under SVEEP by the Chief Electoral Office in view of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 .With an aim to increase voter participation and educate citizens about the electoral process, Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra S. Chokalingam , Deputy Election Commissioner Hirdesh Kumar , Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra Kiran Kulkarni in the presence of this campaign was launched. Transgender rights activist Gauri Sawant , disabled rights activist Nilesh Singhit , veteran actor Padmashri Manoj Joshi , veteran actress Varsha Usgaonkar , musician and singer Milind Ingle were also present on the occasion.As part of this massive awareness campaign , the CBC Voter Awareness Van was officially inaugurated and will begin its journey from tomorrow. The van will travel across 15 districts and 133 constituencies in Maharashtra , including historically low voter turnout areas. The van will distribute important information regarding the voting process , locations of polling booths , model code of conduct and filing of complaints for any violations. Audio-visual media will be used to ensure that maximum number of citizens are informed and involved in this campaign.Along with the mobile awareness campaign , video messages of key dignitaries, including senior administrative officers and well-known personalities of Maharashtra, will be displayed on LED screens across the state , appealing to citizens to vote. To further increase public participation , CBC folk artists will organize cultural events , spreading the message of voting through traditional art forms.The campaign, which will run till November 20 , 2024, has been supported by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and various district administrations to ensure maximum voter participation in the state elections.
