“If our religious matters are interfered with, we will continue to fight within scope of the Constitution,” says Maulana Mahmood Madani.
Important Resolutions Passed for protection of Waqf, Mosques and Madrasas, more than one lakh people gather in Kishanganj Bihar’ Jamiat session.
New Delhi: Addressing a large gathering at Lehra Chowk in Kishanganj, Jamiat Ulema-io-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani issued a stern warning to governments to refrain from running communal agendas. He emphasized that while roads and infrastructure development are essential for the country, discrimination on the basis of caste and religion is a betrayal of the nation’s ideals.
Speaking at a public gathering organized by Jamiat Ulema Kishanganj, chaired by Maulana Ghiyasuddin and conducted by Maulana Khalid Anwar, the event also witnessed the presence of notable personalities including Jamiat General Secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, Bihar Jamiat President Maulana Mufti Javed Iqbal, and Maulana Mufti Iftikhar Qasmi and MP and all MLAs of the district. The leaders collectively called for national unity and interfaith brotherhood.
Maulana Madani expressed deep concern over the prevailing socio-political environment in the country. He lamented the systematic efforts to marginalize minorities, particularly Muslims, by making them socially isolated, economically vulnerable, and legally disadvantaged. He said, “Justice and fairness are the pillars of any civilized society. Without these, even the largest states cannot survive. The rising bias in interpreting constitutional rights and basic principles of the Constitution, particularly in cases involving mosques, is a matter of grave concern.”
Highlighting issues related to the Waqf Act, Maulana Madani said:“Waqf is a religious matter. Muslims dedicate their properties as an act of charity and for the pleasure of Allah. These properties are not government-owned; they belong to the Muslim community. Despite repeated demands for better management of Waqf properties, governments have ignored the plight of these assets. Recent proposed amendments to the Waqf Act are alarming, as they aim to increase government control and erode the fundamental objectives of Waqf. We will not tolerate interference in our religious matters and will oppose any such moves within the framework of the Constitution.”Maulana Madani urged Muslims to adopt patience and wisdom in addressing challenges and to actively contribute to social and national development through balanced and constructive efforts.
